Composting isn’t a newfangled thing or trend, it’s a process that has been around long enough that the Romans and Greeks did it. Farmers have been composting for centuries because it is a cost-effective way to reuse waste. Naples Compost was founded in 2018 and launched its service offerings to the Naples, FL area on Earth Day! We are routinely asked, “Why should I compost?” When faced with this question, Naples Compost founder, Hannah Rinaldi, likes to show a picture of her three children and simply say, “This is why . . . for our and their future.” Composting provides many benefits — it can save money and resources, and it ultimately reduces our overall impact on the environment. When we compost instead of throwing food waste away, we reduce the amount of solid waste that is destined for a landfill.
